Can you believe its January and the cherry tree
is blossoming outside my window?!
"......is it me your looking for?"
(Lionel Richie)
I seriously love that song.
I had a major Lionel Richie era when I was 18.
It may or may not have been due to a boyfriend at the time.
Im just sayin'....
I used to pop in his greatest hits album
"Back to Front"
and literally listen to it....
back
to
front.
Anyhoo -
I have been listening to alot of music lately.
Mr Richie has been an attendee.....
As well as my BFF Stevie Nicks and the rest of the Fleetwood Clan....
(they are my all-time favorite band)
Heart, Metallica, Journey, Stone Temple Pilots, Billy Joel, Michael Buble, Earth Wind & Fire.....
Yeah...Im all over the musical map.
Cleaning and packing music.
Music that motivates and is fun.
I need fun.
and motivation.
Remodeling/Moving is still underway at full steam ahead.
(this was the chaos in the kitchen over the holidays!)
The remodeling part is way over schedule.....
(we were already supposed to be in the new house!)
But i cant get mad at my contractor
cuz he is pretty darn cute.
(and I have to sleep next to him everynite!)
Poor guy is workin 2 jobs.
One of them he gets paid for.
The other one.....
well....you can say his "boss" is a beotch sometimes.
She pays him in food and hugs and kissies.
(on the good days anyways!)
;)
He is nuthin' short of awesome.
Well, I figured I would give you some shots of what is in store
(hopefully soon!)
While sanding the ceiling in our dining room -
imagine our pleasant surprise of finding CEDAR T&G boards
instead of pine!
(you can see the raw sanded cedar on the left compared to the original laquered on the right)
Say "hello" to my house....

You will get to see it all - hopefully soon!
Right now I am pretty stoked about the bedrooms being
drywalled and taped!
Hey, I'm a simple gal :)
I really am.
I tell the Stig that allllll the time.
For some reason he doesnt quite believe me.
Especially when I am fretting over 5 shades of gray paint.
He doesnt understand why we can't paint everything white.
Sure...
sounds good.
Does he understand that there are 100's of whites out there?!
Oh, and I just wanted to give a shout out to my gal Sarah.
She has been worried about me since I have been M.I.A. on here.
She's got remodel on the brain too!
(check out this bad-boy from her inspiration file!)
Thanks for poppin' in and checking on me love!!
I miss being on here and seeing you all.....
Believe me,
I cant wait to get back to my normal life.
I miss myself sometimes these days!!

I love the kitchen that you posted- so lovely- i'm not sure about the wood countrtop, my friend has one and she is constantly refinishing it!

have a great weekend
I remember feeling the same way when we were remodeling our home. We were so completely involved in it... we had to live in it while it was being remodeled after all... it seemed we did nothing else for four straight years. I was so glad to get our lives back when it was all said and done... and so will you! And... your home will be gorgeous when it's all said and done, too! Love all the finishes you chose!
Happy weekend to you!
~ Jo :)
It looks like your home is going to look awesome! So looking forward to seeing the finished project!
Wow, no wonder you've been m.i.a! That's some action you've got going on there!
My husband is always laughing at me for fretting over five shades of grey that he swears he can't tell the difference between!!!
Well done on the cedar wood discovery. It's always so nice to find you've upgraded without realising, isn't it?!
And thank you, gorgeous girlie, for the shout-out. You made me smile LOTS!

I love your taste! I always wanted a white kitchen but instead got a dark mahogony (looks like a library) and so I envy you! Have fun with it! So cheery and bright and makes a cooking on a gray day more appealing.
Fun! Can't wait to see it come together. Wehave a couple of the claire lights here at WR, love them!
